Moving-Up Party

20.05.2019

The year of study is coming to its end, but the students of Primary school are enjoying an eventful time. On Thursday, the 16, Centre 4 had a Moving-Up Party — a farewell ceremony which rounds-up their first stage of learning and marks their way further, to the secondary school.

This year the Moving-Up Party was organized by the English Department as an intellectual quest. The students had to answer challenging questions at different stations, like “Animal kingdom”, “Food”, “Sports and Games”, “Bugs”, “General knowledge”. They had to show off not only their ability to speak English, but also erudition. The stakes were high — pizzas for the team who would earn 1000 points!
Centre 4 students proved to be very attentive, determined, knowledgeable and united. The teachers were absolutely astonished when they managed to identify the paintings of Claude Monet, differentiated the Chinese language from the Korean language and remembered all the details of “Harry Potter”. The students could name the most poisonous fish and how dolphins sleep! We are very proud of them! By the way, would you like to try and answer some of the most challenging questions of the quest? For example,

  • What is the deadliest spider in the world?
  • What is the Olympic gold medal made out of?
  • Which animal has blue blood?
The Party taught the students another lesson too: by the end of the event the teams hadn’t had enough points to win pizzas, but they found out, that if they sum up the results of all the players, if they stand out “one for all and all for one”, they can reach their goal.
Fun, pizzas and English — the party was a success!
(Answers to the questions above: the Brazilian wandering spider; silver; octopus).
