October 28, 2015 Dr. Lloyd Ackert, professor in History of Science at Drexel University, USA gave a talk to the 9th and 10th graders on American higher education and Drexel University, in particular. This was the second time Dr. Ackert has visited our school and such meetings are becoming a tradition that we hope will lead to a greater collaboration in the future.

Personally, I think such meetings are really useful for the students who want to study abroad. Although most of my peers have already chosen to study in Russia, we could learn more about the differences between Russian and American universities. Maybe after such meetings some students will change their minds about where they will study.

I think that classes like this one are really interesting. I had a great opportunity to learn more about the system of higher education in the USA. The idea of co-op has especially drawn my attention as we have something like that too. Co-op is getting some working experience while at University. It is similar to MSU system, by the way. For example, my sister has had her internship at TASS, an information portal, working as a journalist as a student. She has gained awesome experience that she will definitely use in the future.

I really like the presentation by Dr. Ackert. It seems to me very interesting and inspiring. Drexel University is a great place for studying as well as enjoying student life. The campus life is not only academically focused but fun too.

The presentation was very interesting. I have already chosen to study in Moscow, but at the meeting I learnt some interesting things about the city of Philadelphia and the university itself.
What surprised me most was the fact that students can initiate any club or activity outside class, for example, quidditch competitions and just have lots of fun.
Moreover, I had an opportunity to practice English as listening comprehension in terms of academic English maybe challenging at times.
Overall, it was nice having a foreign guest as a speaker at our school.
