Board games party

13.11.2018

What do kids love? Games, of course! Not only this is a perfect way to have fun, you can actually learn a lot while playing board games. Keeping that in mind, the Department of Foreign Languages decided to treat our 7th-graders to a Board Games Party. This exciting event took place on the 12th of November in the Аssembly Hall.

We had five games and five groups, so each group had fifteen minutes to dive into a game and enjoy. Bananagrams, English championship, Apples to Apples, Taboo and Last Word were our choice for that event. However, we still have more in stock to continue playing in class.
Every game should have a winner, so did ours. After two lessons of fun, it was time to count the overall score for all the games and to announce the lucky winners. They were Bogdan Makienko, Alina Eremeeva, Fedya Bleskin, Denis Patrakhin and Egor Efimenko. The champions were awarded a board game each to bring home.
Here are just some of the opinions of the participants:

I loved the game where you need to make new words because you can gain most points there. It’s called Bananagrams and I really liked looking for suitable words. This is a wonderful game! I would add the game Scrabble, it enriches your vocabulary really quickly! And so does Bananagrams.
Mitya Volovich
I liked the game called Last Word! I have a really bad reaction and I want to improve it. Now I’m a bit better at concentrating and I feel that my knowledge about the world has become richer.
Sasha Sargina
Most of all I enjoyed the games called Taboo and Last Word because I love playing this kind of games where I need to think as fast as I can. The thing I’ve learnt today is that I don’t need to cheat. The main ideas is not to win but to participate and have fun

I really like such games as English Championship, you can learn a lot there. Also, Apples to Apples was very funny and easy. I’ve learnt a lot of new words and found out that my English is pretty good.

All the games were very interesting and exciting. I would add more card games, such as Uno. I’ve learnt a lot of new words and facts. Besides, this party has taught me how to think a bit faster.
Anton Mikhaylov
Apples to Apples is the funniest game ever! Maybe, next time I would like to see Uno as well. It’s also very nice. I’ve learned a lot of new facts and how to give definitions to the words.
Leonova Milana
The funniest and most exciting game for me was Apples to Apples. Today I’ve learnt how to think faster and react quicker. Also, I’ve learnt some new words and facts.
Liza Chagina
I liked Bananagrams most of all because it’s the most logical game! Also, next time I would like see Alias.
