Christmas is a special time of the year. Everyone can feel love and happiness in the air. To celebrate this tradition. the 6th grader staged the play titled, ’The first Christmas’. This exciting event took place on the 6th of December in the Аassembly Hall.

This play is a common and old tradition in American and British schools with pupils having the chance to be part of one of the greatest stories ever told. This was an important step for the 6th graders as they told the story of how the first Christmas happened to students of the 5th grader with wonderful characters in colourful costumes bringing the events that happened over 2000 years ago to life. After the play, there was a quiz. The 5th and 6th grade worked together in teams of 6th to answer questions regarding Christmas.
We also sang classic Christmas carols like ’Silent night’, ’Joy to the world’ and more. George Porter sang Amy Grant’s Christmas classic, ’The night before Christmas’, Daniil Wolfson showed his elegance and majesty as Caesar Augustus and Varya Svirina schooled us on how to improvise at the last moment. It was a learning experience in which the 6th graders showed how far they’ve progressed from a year ago and the 5th graders see what’s in store for them next school year. I liked the reaction of the 5th graders. They were smiling and looking so inspired by the play. Also my favourite character is Mary. She is strong and she brought Jesus to the world.
My favourite scene was the scene about the wise men. They acted really well and I love the history of paganism.
My favourite Character was the King because he was too realistic.
My favourite scene was when the king was surprised because of the news about Jesus. Dima acted funny.
My favourite character is Angel Gabriel because I like magical characters and characters with wings.
I liked that we worked together with the 5th graders at this event
I learnt that when you speak to an audience, you need to speak like to a friend so it will be interesting to them
I learnt new words and knew the full story of The first Christmas.
I learnt how to work in a team because it is very difficult.
