Board games party

22.10.2019

What do kids love? Games, of course! Not only this is a perfect way to have fun, you can actually learn a lot while playing board games. Keeping that in mind, the Department of Foreign Languages decided to treat our 7th-graders to our annual Board Games Party. This exciting event took place on the 18th of October in the Аssembly Hall.

We had five games and five groups, so each group had fifteen minutes to dive into a game and enjoy. Bananagrams, English championship, Apples to Apples, Taboo and Last Word were our choice for that event. However, we still have more in stock to continue playing in class.
Every game should have a winner, so did ours. After two lessons of fun, it was time to count the overall score for all the games and to announce the lucky winners. They were Malika Adylova, Timur Popelnyukhov, Makar Fesun and Margarita Stolyarova. The champions were awarded a board game each to bring home.
The Department of Foreign Languages would like to express their thanks to the kids who were remarkably well-behaved and to school administration that provided the prizes.
Here are just some of the opinions of the participants:
I really enjoyed the event. My favourite game was English Championship because I really like quizzes. And I have learned a lot of new words today.

Nikita Minaev
My favourite game was Taboo, it was really interesting to play it. I can’t think of any other game to add to the event. Now I know that it was Steve Jobs who invented Apple.
George Porter
I like Bananagrams most. This game is really engaging. To win it you need to have good vocabulary. I would add Crocodile game because it is really funny to play. I have learned a lot of new facts about England.
Egor Bogdanov
I really enjoyed playing Bananagrams. You can get a lot of points there. If you think of other board games, they take too much time. The choice of games for the event was really nice. I’ve learned that today is not my lucky day.
Ivan Grishanov
The funniest games were English Championship, Apples to Apples and Bananagrams. I would add the game Imaginarium. it can help you learn English. I’ve had a lot of fun today and learnt a lot, too.
Barbara Svirina
Today I’ve learnt that lessons can be really funny! You can learn something by playing! I wish these days were more often.
