Year 9 students had a chance to try themselves as speakers at our school TED Talks event, which was a perfect chance to demonstrate their speaking and critical thinking skills.
But what is a TED talk? A TED talk is a short speech, demonstration, or performance around a big idea that is meant to educate, shift people’s perspectives to encourage positive changes, or provoke conversations that matter.
Every participant made an inspirational and informative talk to spark conversation about ideas and encourage their peers to think about important issues. Most of the topics were devoted to mental and physical health maintenance, modern technology, art and science.
The winners were:
1 place award — Mark Komolov
2 place award — Angelina Deryabina
3 place award — Alina Valeeva
And Rolan Sayakhov received the Audience Award with his speech Congratualtions!
