Everybody knows the famous story of Puss in Boots and how intelligent and witty he was. Well, we found those who could match the popular cat in resourcefulness.
On February 26, Centre 4 experienced a completely new type of adventure — a quest based on Puss in Boots, the famous fairy tale by Charles Perrault.
The participants were challenged to come up with alternate ways of achieving the same goals as Puss in Boots had. However, unlike the cat, they didn’t need to use trickery and deceit. The tasks were to be performed by applying decisiveness, sharp minds and patience.
There were several obstacles that Puss had had to overcome to gain power, wealth and the hand of a princess in marriage for her penniless and low-born master, and the students had to go through similar stages.
The students recorded a video message introducing the Marquis of Carrabas as the best candidate for the Princess’s hand. They planted fruits and vegetables to offer their harvest to the King on behalf of Marquis of Carrabas. They took part in a scientific experiment to gain knowledge that would help them to incline the King in favour of the Marquis.
In the «ogre’s castle» they found themselves in a labyrinth and had to find their way out. They also confronted the owner of the «castle» and engaged in an intellectual battle with the insidious monster.
In short, the game demonstrated that the children would have held their own against a puss, even if it was Puss in Boots.
